“I believe people in all of our neighborhoods should feel safe, comfortable, healthy, and productive.

My pledge to the voters is to work for the following:

Safe Neighborhoods

A successful future for Shelby County depends on the County’s ability to lower the rate of crime collaborating with Memphis on such things as Blue Crush, community policing, and technology.

Crime reduction will require short and long term solutions.
Shelby County must maintain a full complement of enforcing deputies and firemen who receive adequate compensation and benefits.
“…I believe you have some great ideas & the personality to succeed…Thanks for making a difference” Supporter

Comfortable Neighborhoods
Every neighborhood should be stable with affordable housing and a blight free environment. Homeowners, renters and businesses should be directly involved in making this happen.
Healthy Neighborhoods
All citizens should have convenient access to primary health facilities.
Children 0-4 should have adequate care for both mind & body.
Citizens should have access to safe, clean neighborhood parks and community centers.
Sanitation and environmental services should have the same priority in all neighborhoods.

I believe that our citizens must be the center of any of Shelby County’s plans, programs or projects. ”

Productive Neighborhoods
Education, business incentives & new businesses must be targeted to creating, attracting & keeping jobs paying a living wage. And, incentives must be targeted towards 21st Century jobs and technology.
Government Accountability and Transparency
Government must be transparent & accountable to citizens while creating a more efficient County by investing in growth in priority neighborhoods.
Shelby County must develop, approve and implement a comprehensive plan to guide it over the next 20 years.

“People must be part of the process.”

“Shelby County can succeed if its citizens succeed. The County Commission should legislate and advocate for actions that will optimize citizen success.”
